Although labor migration is not a new phenomenon for Ukraine, effective methods for improving the socio-economic status of the country need to be actively pursued through a number of European-level reforms. To reduce the volume of migration processes, it is necessary to use administrative tools and ensure the functioning of the socio-economic mechanism. The necessity to eliminate and prevent the existing causes and consequences of labor migration through the improvement of the current legislation, introduction of an effective system of monitoring of migrants is substantiated.
This article examines the nature and dynamics of labor migration of Ukrainians abroad. The structure of migrants by field of activity and time limits of stay of migrants abroad are studied. The factors and negative consequences of external labor migration in Ukraine are investigated. Comparison of methods for collecting statistical information in Ukraine and the most popular recipient countries is made.
In recent times, the current flows of Ukrainian labor migrants have become unprecedented sizes, and this process continues to grow even larger. Unfortunately, every year there is an increase in the number of skilled workers who favor labor migration in order to find new jobs due to the armed conflict, unstable political and difficult economic situation, which have led to increased unemployment, lower incomes and living standards. The dissatisfaction of the population with the socio-economic situation of the country affects the migration mood of the population, causing not only labor, but also educational migration, their various types and forms. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to study current trends in labor migration of the population of Ukraine and to substantiate the directions of improvement of the state migration policy and measures to regulate migration processes.
