Annotation | Formulation of the problem. Global changes in people’s lives can be called one of the most pressing issues today. Every day new ideas, theories, scientific discoveries appear in the world. However, this problem is only a problem for conservatives who are not ready for change. The era of innovation, information and the Internet, which are implemented in every sphere of life, is beginning. Changes are becoming multifaceted and happening faster and faster. And changes in one area inevitably lead to changes in another. Presentation of the main material of the study. According to leading Ukrainian and foreign scientists, innovation is the result of intellectual, creative work. “Innovation – the end result of creative work, implemented in the form of new or improved products or new or improved technological process used in economic turnover” [3]. There is a certain conflict between innovation and management, as the two functions are based on diametrically opposed worldviews. Business leaders are responsible for the expected results, but innovations are inherently unpredictable because they are the result of creative work. Most managers focus on current revenues from the current sale of products and services. Management prefers the expected results. Today, in order to be effective in the field of innovation, management must switch from people management to knowledge management. This means that the role of the manager is to provide the necessary tools and form organizational structures to make new knowledge available to employees. Conclusions. Thus, the role of the manager in innovation is twofold. For subordinates, the role of the manager should be to support and stimulate their intellectual activity. For senior management, the role of the manager is to be a defender of innovation. Therefore, the manager must create an optimal internal environment for innovation, and then protect it from external forces that will try to resist it. It will be much easier to protect innovations if innovations meet the goals and objectives of enterprise development. |
