The article considers the problems of fertility of agricultural lands – the main means of agricultural production. It is established that as a result of unbalanced economic activity of the management of farms of the corporate sector of the agrarian economy there is a decrease in the fertility of agricultural land. Over the last 20 years, the soils of Ukraine have lost 0.5% of humus (according to the Center for Fertility) and the tendency to reduce it does not stop. Small doses of manure and fertilizers do not reproduce soil fertility. The harvests of recent years are mostly the result of the depletion of exclusively natural soil fertility, the impoverishment of the potential part. Opportunities to dispose of land within the territory of the respective territorial community will encourage local governments to intensify actions in terms of land use in the most efficient and cost-effective way.
