New EU Research and Innovation Program. It will run from 2014 to 2020 with a total budget of about 70 billion euros. The Horizon 2020 program aims to integrate all existing European research and innovation initiatives funded through the Framework Program for Research and Innovation Development (RP), the Framework Program for Competitiveness and Innovation (CIP) and the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). Thus, combining three separate programs combines the field of research and innovation. At the same time, the Horizons 2020 focuses on social challenges and gives more access to all companies, universities, institutes in the EU and beyond.
